Docs / CLI
Install parts from your terminal instead of copy-pasting.
The CLI is a single Node file with no dependencies (Node 18+). Download it once and keep it anywhere:
curl -fsSL https://kata-ui.dev/cli/kata-ui.mjs -o kata-ui.mjs node kata-ui.mjs list
It reads the same registry.json this site publishes for AI tools — the CLI is a friendlier reader of the same catalog. An npm package is on the way; the single file is the whole thing either way.
init writes the design tokens. add writes a part — and everything it depends on — into ./kata by default:
node kata-ui.mjs init node kata-ui.mjs add button select node kata-ui.mjs add login
Blocks and templates install the same way: add dashboard writes the whole page. Theme presets too — add indigo writes the theme CSS. Pass --dir to choose another folder.
Link tokens.css first, then the part CSS, and paste the HTML in as it is:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="kata/tokens.css"> <link rel="stylesheet" href="kata/components/button/button.css">
Nothing phones home and nothing updates itself afterwards: the files are yours, like a copy-paste that typed itself.
